Counselling focuses on helping people to explore issues which may be causing difficulty in their day to day life. It is often short term counselling, consisting of up to six or eight sessions only. 

Psychotherapy focuses on deeper underlying issues that my be impacting on a persons life over may years. It is often longer term psychotherapy which is open ended as some people may benefit from more sessions and others less. 

An assessment is made on an individual basis, taking in the areas that you are seeking help with. This is discussed with the individual or couple and a tailored therapy plan is agreed upon to ensure that you are getting the best from either counselling or psychotherapy.
